Computer Technicians Will Rip You Off! Basic Home Computer Repair Services

There are close to 78% of house holds that have computer in the US. Less than 10% of those people actually know how to fix a computer. This is where you can get yourself in trouble if your computer ever messes up. If you don't know anything about a computer then chances are your computer technician knows that you don't and if he/she is crooked they could rip you off majorly.
There are a lot of different things that you will need to know about a computer before you just open yourself up to a technician. The first will be computer basics like what is a computer hard drive and what is memory. You will not have to be an expert in the computer repair field, but you just need to know enough to make yourself sound like you are aware of what is going on. There are many different troubleshooting steps you can take before you call the computer geek. You could try restarting your computer. Maybe restarting your internet modem.
The more you know about the computer the easier it will be to communicate with the technician and understand what he is telling you. What if the technician was to say "You have a bad Hard Drive". One question that would be great to come back to him with is "What leads you to believe this?" Or maybe he might tell you "Your computer is so old, you just need to buy a new computer instead of buying a new stick of memory." Here is what you could say in return, "How much is a stick of memory compared to fixing this computer?"
I once read this article where it talked about Computer Repair people who rip their customers off. They had an operation setup where a certified computer repair technician unplugged the hard drive on the computer and then the people went out to a few different computer shops to get a check up performed on the computer. The first shop found the problem with in seconds and hooked it the cable back up. The second computer shop looked at the computer and said that the mother board was shot and they would need to buy a new mother board and it would be "X" amount to install it. The third computer shop they went to did the same as number 2 computer shop. They made up a problem with the computer being broke and told them there would be an additional charge for the computer to be fixed. They went to 3 more shops and all 3 of those shops were the same was and Shop 2 and Shop 3.
Bottom line people, the computer technician can and will rip you off. But the question to ask yourself is, "Will I let them rip me off?" Here is an article that goes a long with what I'm talking about, you can find it here.

How To Choose A Computer Repair Service Provider?

Computers have become a necessity in the current world, and statistics show that every two out of three households in the United States have a computer or a similar device. The greater number of computers has also increased the demand for their repair. Hence, the number of computer repair service providers has increased in the last few years.
Why is a careful selection is important?
Some people consider any service provider to repair their computer, but this can be a big mistake. A computer repair service company should be chosen with care and due diligence. The reason behind this is that you hand over your PC and data to the provider. There might be some providers which will not respect your privacy and will access the data. Another reason for this is that, there are numerous computer repairmen now-a-days, and some of them provide quality services. However, there are some people who charge high prices, but fail to deliver good work. Hence, it is important to distinguish between the two, and choose the better one.
So, in order to choose the right computer repair services, you should keep the following factors in mind:
• Cost - This is a prime factor for choosing anything, and the cost should be reasonable. You can get a recommendation from a friend who already knows about it. If you think that somebody is overcharging, then choose another even if the service is exquisite. The important matter is that, at the end of the day the computer is fixed properly.
• Reputation - The next thing is the reputation of the provider, and if it's good then you should choose it. On the other hand, a service about which no one knows anything shows a lack of promise. You can skim through the local service web sites and computer magazines for a list of the service providers. They can also give you the knowledge about some other qualities that you require.
• Past customer reviews - You can search online for customer reviews, as this will also guide you with some great choices, as well as the problems and drawbacks associated with each.
• Licensing and certification - It is essential to ensure that you are hiring a licensed professional. See the actual certificate, as some people will lie to you, while others might show outdated certificates.
• Guarantees offered - A service provider should offer a warranty or guarantee after fixing the issues. A long warranty period represents that they have confidence in their work.
All these ways will help you choose a good computer repair service provider.
If your computer needs accessories like a 3G router or a 4G router, you can buy it online from chinabuye.com. If you are a service provider you can also get products in bulk, as the company is reliable and deliver very fast.

Various Types Of Computer Repair Services

There are numerous computer repair services, hence before choosing a right one it is important to know if the provider will provide you the required service; otherwise all the research work will be wasted. In order to give a better judgment, you should be aware of all the types of repair services.
Mentioned below are the computer repair services that are commonly offered:
• Virus removal: In this type of service, the providers ensure that the virus will be removed without risking the data or the information. There are independent service providers that only remove viruses. You can also get this service online, besides a complete service includes everything that is required to bring the computer into a safe condition.
• Hardware repairs: This is related to many physical damages that are incurred by the computer, or its accessories. This includes any dents, paint jobs or other structural issues that might be faced by the computers.
• Accessories repair: There are numerous accessories with a computer, like scanners, and printers, etc. which might need a repair due to damage. A person specialized in computer hardware would not necessarily be aware of the techniques and methods required, as both have different components. They might also provide advisory services regarding this or any other matter.
• Data recovery: Sometimes due to certain issues, your data might get lost. This might be irrecoverable for you; but a professional can easily recover the data by tracking the information. This is an extremely sensitive matter, hence a high quality service should be chosen. A low quality work might result in permanent loss of data; making it impossible for an experienced professional to recover it.
• Troubleshooting and networking errors: These are the two most common types of services which can get complicated. They include network installation, and the related problems.
• Maintenance services: A computer requires constant updating and tune ups, as it not only enhances the working speed of the computer, but also increases its lifetime. It includes rebooting, updating, and installing the new windows or general inspections.
• Customization: This service has become less common in the current period, but you can ask a computer repair provider to build a customized computer for you with specific features. One important factor is the stability, so you should ask the provider about its stability.
• Tutoring: With the current fame of this business, many people show interest in learning about computer repair. That's why many institutions offer tutoring services to people about different techniques and types of repair services. You can specialize in any type, or get an entire course, as it will be good for starting your own business or to save future repair costs.

Finding Professional PC Repair Services Online

When you have a problem with your computer, there are many places that you can take your PC to in order to have it repaired. However, many people neglect to search for an online computer repair specialist, and this is a shame because this can turn out to be a cheaper alternative to taking your PC to be repaired in a store. Another advantage to using an online PC repair specialist company is that they are not restricted to store opening hours.

Around the Clock Service
When you hire an online PC repair specialist, you know that you are going to be able to get a 24 hour per day solution to your problem. No matter what the time of day or night, you can rest assured that there is going to be someone available to remotely fix your problem computer. The downside is that it can be difficult to choose from the large number of people and companies that are offering their computer repair skills online.

The Advantages of Using an Online PC Repair Service
Most computer problems can be fixed by a PC repair specialist remotely, however, for those problems that cannot be fixed via the internet; the PC repair specialist will come to your home and fix your computer there and then.
Plus in addition to this, many internet based PC repair companies will also be able to provide you with yearly or monthly tech support, and this can be a huge benefit to those people running small businesses and those working from home.

A lot of PC problems can be corrected by making use of the internet, however, when it comes to a hardware failure, then you are going to have to have someone call on you to fix the problem. Problems which include failed motherboards or hard drives are the ones that are going to cause the biggest problem, as well as a problem that cannot be fixed online. Also if it is impossible to get your computer to boot up then there is no way a computer repair technician will be able to fix the problem remotely.

As you can see, there are many advantages to hiring a computer repair technician who works remotely, however, it is important to make sure that you do some research into the company or individual before you hire them. There are many good and professional PC repair companies out there, but there are also plenty of poor ones, and their services do not always come cheap.

If you're in London and need help with tech or troubleshooting your computer problems, I highly recommend checking out the nice variety of IT and PC repair services offered by the IT Clinic. Thanks for reading!
